We are excited to start our 12 hour road trip to Disneyland. Notice all the luggage in the back!

We stopped in Fresno for the night. We went for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory located at 1610 East Shaw Ave., Fresno, CA. It was a great family restaurant with a big decommissioned Railway Light & Power car in the middle of the restaurant. We learned that the first ever Old Spaghetti Factory was located in the historic Carriage and Baggage building in Portland, OR.

Our food was pretty good! Isla had spaghetti, Nick had spaghetti and sausage, and I had a Caesar salad.
After eating, we went back to our hotel to get some rest.
The next day we finished our drive and arrived right in time for our brunch reservation at Goofy’s kitchen. Goofy’s kitchen is located in the Disneyland Hotel.

Before sitting at our table we took pictures with Goofy.
Goofy’s kitchen is a buffet style character dining restaurant. As we went for brunch we experienced a nice mix of foods. Isla’s favorites were the PB&J pizza and fruit bar. My favorites included the Lox Bagels and Smores Pizza. Dad liked the waffle bar.

While we ate the characters came around to dance. Everyone was still a bit COVID sensitive so the characters did not stop long for pictures.

We had a great time taking pictures and dancing with the characters.

After brunch we went and checked into our hotel at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. This was our second time staying at this location and it was just as awe-inspiring and magical the second time as it was the first. When you walk into the resort you are greeted with the expansive grand lobby with roaring fireplace and a Grande piano. While we stood in line, a pianist played beautiful renditions of Beauty and the Beast, The Imperial March, and You’ve Got a Friend in Me.

Our accommodations were ready for us so we went straight up to our Downtown Disney View room. The room was gorgeous and overlooked the Tower of Terror and Salt & Straw/Black Tap Burgers in Downtown Disney. Upon opening the balcony doors the smell of Churros wafted in and the Disney tunes were audible from Downtown Disney. It was truly a delightful setup.

We spent the next 3 days exploring our resort, Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure.
